The Colpepper Review

A Literary Magazine

The Colpepper Review is a publication dedicated to writers and readers alike.

We reach this goal by providing a platform that limits barriers for authors with no-fee submissions as well as for readers with no subscription fees.

What we publish.

The Colpepper Review’s goal is to get good writing read. The purpose of publishing your writing is to have others read it. If you (and therefore your potential readers) face barriers like submission fees, excessive response wait times, and/or fees on the readers end to view the publication then these are all potential sticking points for getting your work seen. At this time we are limiting submissions to short stories and poetry, though this may expand in the future.

See our contests and submission information below.

Contests!

We host NO FEE annual writing contests.

Short Stories:

The Rhetorical Flourish Prize is awarded to the winner of our short story contest. In addition to the recognition there is $200 for the first place winner, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place. Additionally, all finalists of the contest will have their submission published in our end of year anthology (maximum of 20 stories, including the top three winners).

Poetry:

The Colpepper Prize in Poetry is awarded to the winner of our poetry contest. In addition to the recognition there is a $50 award for the first place finisher. All finalists of the contest will have their poem published in our end of year anthology (maximum of 10 poems, including the contest winner).

The annual contests are open for submissions from September 1, 2020 through November 15, 2020

Winners will be announced by December 20, 2020 with publication of the end of year anthology soon after.

All submissions must be:
